COACHING MASTERY WORKSHOP:

Coaching for Growth™

5 November 2026 | Education Development Centre Hindmarsh

Every day, leaders are asked for the answer. And when you’re experienced, capable and busy, it’s tempting to simply give it.

But great leadership isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about developing people who can think, solve problems and grow.

Coaching Mastery is a highly practical one-day workshop that equips leaders with the mindset, skills and tools to have powerful coaching conversations that build capability, confidence and accountability.

Become the leader who stops solving every problem and instead develop the people who can.

Every coaching conversation is an opportunity to build someone’s capability, confidence and ownership.

Trusted by leaders across government, education, defence, not-for-profit and industry.

Developing your people has never been more important.

Whether you’re a senior executive, business owner or people leader, if you’re committed to building a team that can think, decide and act with less hand-holding, this workshop will give you the tools to get there.

Every time you jump in with the answer, you solve today’s problem, but you may miss the chance to build someone’s capability to solve tomorrow’s capability.

Coaching changes that.

What if your people stopped looking to you for all the answers?

What if they thought it through first, took greater ownership of their decisions, and came to you with possibilities, not just problems?

This workshop helps you become the leader who builds that capability in others.

Is This Workshop for You?

This workshop is designed for emerging and experienced leaders who:

  • Find themselves constantly giving advice, solving problems and saving others.
  • Want their people to take greater ownership and accountability.
  • Know they should coach more but aren't sure what to ask or how to structure the conversation.
  • Want to become better at asking powerful questions and really listening.
  • Need a practical way to know how and when to coach.

You don't need an hour to have a powerful coaching conversation.

Some of the most powerful coaching happens in five or ten minutes. It can be a team member at your door, a colleague stuck on a decision, someone wanting to talk through their next step.

The question is: will you give them the answer, or help them think?

Coaching is a skill, not a personality trait. And skills can be learned.

What You'll learn

The SHIFT™ Coaching Model — a practical framework for coaching conversations, even when you only have 10 minutes.

Great coaches don’t just ask questions. They follow a structure that keeps the conversation focused and moves it towards action.

S — Start

Create focus and clarify what the person wants from the conversation.

H — Hone

Go deeper into the situation, assumptions and what matters most.

I — Identify Options & Blockers

Generate possibilities while identifying what’s getting in the way.

F — Factor Trade-offs

Weigh the risks, benefits and consequences of each option.

T — Take Action

Turn thinking into action through clear ownership and commitment.

START  →  HONE  →  IDENTIFY  →  FACTOR  →  TAKE ACTION

You’ll also build practical coaching skills, including powerful questioning, active listening and building accountability, that you can apply immediately in the flow of work.

What you'll practise

  • Problem-solving conversations
  • Performance and development conversations
  • Decision-making conversations
  • Career and growth conversations
  • Everyday coaching moments in the flow of work

What makes this workshop different?

This isn’t another course full of coaching theory.

Throughout the day you’ll participate in:

  • Real workplace coaching scenarios
  • Practical exercises and role plays
  • Facilitated discussions
  • Reflection activities
  • Expert coaching and feedback throughout the day

You’ll leave with proven frameworks, practical tools and greater confidence to handle the conversations leaders face every day.
